Faces of innovation

Came across an interesting article via Rediff.com, an Indian Web portal, on the 10 faces of innovation. What is really interesting about this article is not so much the labels attached to the people described, but their behaviors -- the things that they do. This article includes yet another definition of innovation, "People implementing new ideas that create value."

This article is more of an excerpt taken from Tom Kelley's book on the Ten Faces of Innovation. Tom Kelley is of course from IDEO- the product design firm from Palo Alto.

What is interesting is that the Indian media is increasingly writing and discussing about Innovation in a serious manner. So is the business community at large. And the non-profit world. I myself am about to begin a series of article de-mystifying Innovation in The Economic Times- the leading business newspaper in India. I also run a non-profit which encourages the practice of Innovation in the society.

Not selling myself here; the point is that those who think that India, Taiwan or China are backoffices doing the dirty low-end work of the western value-creators will not be right for long.
