There is an excellent audio snippet at the Businessinnovation2005.com site regarding urgency. The speaker, John Hagel, makes reference to Asia, suggesting that the best way to create urgency in U.S. firms is to come and take a look at what's happening over here. Great stuff!

Necessity is still one mother of invention, such as the hugely sucessful redirection of German and Japanese military industrial complexes after ww2. Of couse, is still out of chaos, which you mention. Perhaps problem is discernimg interactions between listed elements. Perhaps innovatation is an elusive thing which we cannot seed or plant but must take wherever it is found to grow. Perhaps next year it will be last year's word in the business bible.
